Robert's obituary
Robert Dishman Bock Jr., age 82, passed away at his home in San Rafael, CA on October 25, 2022.
Robert was born in San Pedro, CA son of Robert D. Sr. & Phyllis Bock and preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly Shirley Zimmerman Bock, sister Roberta Bock of Lake County. Survived by daughter Valissa Lane (Warren) and son Robert D. Bock III (Tina), sister Charlotte Harrison and grandchildren Logan DePalmer & Griffin Lane.Nephews Mike,William,Eric and Kenneth Harrison.
After High School in Lake County, Robert studied at Berkley University prior to joining the United States Air Force where he retired after 22 years of service as
Lt. Colonel.
Lt. Col. Robert D. Bock
was a well respected member of the 134th Air Refueling Group of the Tennessee Air National Guard headquartered at McGhee Tyson Air Base in Maryville. LTC Bock was a senior air crew member and served many years as a navigator and staff officer. He participated in numerous deployments including many Air National Guard Creek Party rotations to Germany in support of NATO efforts during the Cold War.
Lt. Col. Bock’s technical expertise in aerial navigation, his intelligent approach to solving problems, and his deep and broad sense of humor and loyalty
made him many friends.
He will be sorely missed by his comrades.
After relocating back to California Robert worked as an Engineer at PG&E and retired after 20 years.
In lieu of sending flowers donations appreciated to the Jewish Family and Children
Services,Beverly Shirlee Zimmerman Bock Fund.
Burial service will be at Mount Tamalpais cemetery on November 3, 2022 at 11:00.
