Robert 'Bob' Newman, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Mount Vernon, VA, on November 18, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, children Danny, Deb, Don, and Katie, three granddaughters, and a great-granddaughter.

A proud Marine, Robert went on to work as a civil engineer for HNTB for over 40 years, including most of the later years as project manager for the Springfield Interchange. He loved volunteering as a docent at the National Museum of the Marine Corps during retirement, coaching his son's baseball team with Springfield Challenger Baseball for 30+ years, and spending time with family and friends at his house at Lake Anna. 

A celebration of his life will be held on December 8 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to programs that support the special needs population such as Springfield Challenger Baseball.
