Bobby was my first cousin.  We grew up in Brooklyn together in the mid 40's and 50's.  It was a large family and we saw each other whenever the aunts and uncles got together.

I will miss him!!!

Dear Margaret & Family, Helene & I were so saddened by your call today telling us of Bob's passing. His loss is so significant to me as we both shared such a long history, starting in the early 60's at HNTB's 99 Church St. New York office, across the street from the soon to be constructed World Trade  Center. Both Brooklyn Tech graduates, we were so lucky to have worked with the finest engineers and mentors in the industry, on great projects planning and designing many of the  earliest Eisenhower Interstate and Defense Highway System roadways. When Bob moved to Alexandria to join Dan Appel, I looked forward to meeting them for lunch every January at the Transportation Research Board meetings. Even after I left HNTB in the early 1980's, we continued to meet there for the same Chinese Restaurant lunch for the next 30 + years.  I loved these reunions and, of course, miss those times.  HNTB was lucky to have had Bob for his entire career. I know he will be missed by so many former colleagues.  May his memory be a blessing.
Bob Newman was a good friend who added joy and friendship to my life.  Bob was a wonderful husband and a great father.  He will be missed
