DEATHS / LINN COUNTY

The Rev. Robert L. Adams, 69, of 640 39th St.
NE, died Saturday, March 5, 1994, in his home after a
short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Cedar
Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: at a later
date. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at
Turner Chapel East.
Survivors include his wife,
Carolyn; a daughter, Ann
Claire (Mrs. Gary) Wright of
Chattanooga, Tenn., two sons,
G. Stuart and Steven R., both
of Cedar Rapids; two grand-
sons, Jason S. Adams and
John V. W. Mansfield IV; and
a sister, Elizabeth Adams
Flinchum of Roanoke, Va.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, W. W. Adams
and Mary O. Hammer Adams;
a brother, Father Michael
Wesley Adams; and a sister,
Julia A. Graham.
Father Adams was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Roanoke,
Va., and graduated from Jefferson High School,
Roanoke. He served in Europe during World War II
from 1943 to 1946. He married Carolyn Machen on
Jan. 2, 1948, in Roanoke. He attended the University
of Iowa. Father Adams was employed for many years
by Ford's Shoes. He was ordained deacon in 1987 and
priest in 1988 in the Anglican Church in America. He
served as a priest in charge of St. Mark's Anglican
Church, Cedar Rapids.
No flowers, please. A memorial fund has been established.
