Robin's obituary
This might be the story of his life, but these details are not what defined him. Anyone that knew Robin, knew of his exaggerated sense of adventure and "need for speed". Starting at an early age, Robin developed a love for fast cars, fast motorcycles, and fast boats. His favorite pass-times were spent flying down the Tennessee River at Pickwick Lake in his Avanti Powerboat. Robin was infamous for showing his friends and family a good time with great food, great fun, and adrenaline. From riding wheelies on his motorcycle to racing his Trans Am down Memphis Motor Speedway, Robin could never get enough action and was always looking for the next rush, and he always found it. He became a Pilot in 2005 and purchased a helicopter that he loved to fly in and out of neighborhoods landing in backyards and Aqua Marina at Pickwick Lake. Even in his retirement and failing health, he never let the adventure stop, owning several fast cars, including a Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye that he loved to show everyone it's 797 horsepower. He was determined to live his life to the fullest and he wanted everyone to join the ride!
Robin joins his 3rd wife, Connie Covington, married in 2010, and their "Little Man" in heaven. Robin is also predeceased by his parents. Robin is survived by his 3 siblings; Ruth Henderson of Memphis, David Ackerman of Memphis, and Todd Ackerman of Fort Walton. Robin is also survived by his 3 daughters; Theresa Register of Memphis, Christin Muench of Nashville, and Alisha Ledford of Memphis, and his granddaughter Alexis Ledford of Memphis. His daughters are following his wishes to not have a service or funeral, but have collectively decided to have a celebration of his life in the coming months at Pickwick Lake in Tennessee.
