Rob's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Robbin "Rob" Levenhagen on May 1, 2025. Born on August 18, 1951, Rob will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Valerie and Matthew Imbrock, his brother-in-law, Eugene and Linda Fry, his mother-in-law, Lorraine Fry, and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Fry. He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Dawn Marie Fry, his father, Robert E Levenhagen, and his mother, Beverly Levenhagen (Svare).
Rob’s love for life was contagious and his culinary skills unmatched. He had a particular fondness for salmon, and had the ability to make any food taste divine. He loved a good cup of coffee, Rob could often be found with a steaming cup in his hand as he travelled along the path of his interests. A thirst for knowledge led him to every insightful writer he could find; Blue Highways and Fishing with John held special places among his favorite books.
Enthusiastic about everything that encompassed life, Rob enjoyed jazz and folk music. An outdoorsman at heart, he could often be found bird watching at the beach, snowshoeing, or spending his winters with Dawn at isolated wilderness fish canneries. Rob was an advocate for the environment, believing in clean water, air, and land for all creatures. He believed in making the world a better place for future generations.
Rob’s zest for life will be celebrated on May 24, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Christ Lutheran Church, Soldotna. His absence will be deeply felt, but his positive influence and the many happy memories he gave us will continue to inspire and comfort us. We invite those who loved Rob to come and share stories, laughter, and tears as we remember a man who truly lived.
