Ritchie's obituary
Ritchie Allan Jarvi of Hibbing, Minnesota, was born March 17, 1948, and passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. Ritch served honorably in the Army, Company B, Engineers Brigade 818, Germany. After returning home, he pursued his dream of having a hobby farm while working as a welder for over 40 years. His reputation was, “If Ritchie can’t weld it, it can’t be welded!” Ritch had a passion for family, animals, and the outdoors, where he enjoyed cutting wood, planting trees, and trail riding with his wife of 38 years, Cindy, on their draft mules.
Ritch is survived by his wife, Cindy Jarvi; children: Lenora (Craig) Jensen, Annaliesa (Nick) McCartney, Jolynne (Art Bjerga Jr.) Jarvi, Andrew (Jen) Jarvi; step-children: Jason (Michelle) Diamon and Desiree Skadal; 14 beloved grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Bruce Jarvi, Ilona (Roger) Kearny. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Sylvia Jarvi, and special relatives, Uncle Reino and Aunt Edna Rahnasto.
Per Ritch’s request, no funeral service will be held. Memorials can be directed via the Arbor Day Foundation (arborday.org) in Ritch’s name. He was proud of the thousands of trees he planted.
