This year my mom and her caregiver decided to make meals for homeless people. Even though they barely had enough money to pay the bills they made 35 meals with homemade Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. At this time mom had already a great deal of pain walking and standing without a walker.

Hello,  here is the poem I wrote and read during Rita's memorial:

Being a mother is never easy although she made it look that way

With grace and love and challenges galore, she faced them all each day

She gave it her all, fighting for you with each and every breath

Her strength, patience and resolve to see it through, never ever left.

Through sleepless nights and endless chores she held her children close

One might say that they are all of you,  unfolding like a rose.

With gentle touch and loving gaze she watched as her babes grew older

They in turn did the same, now the angels have come to hold her.

Her sacrifice, her endless love has touched us all profound.

A gift so pure that she did give - is with us and does resound.

Being a mother is never easy and she lived her life out loud,

For what she had accomplished in life, for that we can be proud.

The legacy she leaves behind, is one about selfless giving.

Everyone she touched along the way were left with hearts a-singing.

For all she did for each of us, we can't ever repay.

But in our hearts, she will forever remain - her love will always stay.

Thank you for being my friend I miss you so much ! You hired me to clean for you but we became friends immediately I couldn’t ask for a better one.  Thank you! Hugs forever
Helping hands

In lieu of flowers

In lieu of flowers, consider a gift to American Cancer Research Center and Foundation.
While I didn’t spend the amount of time with her we texted and messaged frequently. She had a heart of gold. I have so many special memories of growing up with my grandparents and my aunt Rita.  I hope she is at peace and with all the loved ones that were waiting for her. ❤️😘
It was a pleasure knowing Rita. She would talk about her children with love and pride of their accomplishments. I will miss her and wish we could have had more time to get to know each other better. An Angel dancing in heaven. Tricia, your mother is forever in your heart. Hugs.

Rita saved my life. She and I were destined to meet and share our love for life and service. I miss her every moment. Thank you for everything Rita.
When I think of your mom, her kind gentle energy always comes to mind. She was so sweet to me as a kid and I remember thinking how beautiful she was. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Sending you big warm hugs and prayers for a peaceful heart as your mourn her loss.  It’s so hard losing a parent and I’m here for you through all the waves of grief. Much love!
Rita was so sweet.  She had such a good time attending our (45 year?) class reunion.  She sat by me and was just so thankful to be there.  I like the photos you posted.  I send my condolences and prayers to the family.  Tricia, thanks for sending me this information.  Our PTHS classmates will miss your mom.
