Rita Nethelda Macintosh, 79, of Salem, VA passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Rita grew up in Salem, a town where she loved and lived out her life.  Rita will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Rita was predeceased by her loving husband Mac Macintosh. She is survived by her siblings Donald Webster (Susan), Irvin Webster (Jonny), Bill Webster (Linda), and Sharon Smith (Homer - deceased). She is survived by her daughters Bonita Carr (Bob), Nethelda Walters (Pete), Carmella Williams (Kenny), and her grandchildren Beth Elrod, Ashley Daniels, Mercedes Carr Evans, Joshua Carr, Brittany Williams, Jeffrey Williams, and her great-grandchildren Ruthie Daniels, Kingsley Daniels , Ethan Carr, Morgan Carr, Tylan Harris, and Haley Evans.   She is also survived by her 4 stepdaughters, Patty Clayton, Dawn Plymale, Jodie Moore, and Pam Macintosh.   Rita requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Rita’s loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Abbey Chapel at Sherwood Memorial Park on July 1st at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Debbie Hutton.
