Personal note from Jeanne (Dot)

Mom was a proud catholic woman and a very hard worker. She seldom asked for help but was always ready to lend a helping hand to who ever needed it. She enjoyed getting together for family gatherings and usually showed up with a big pot of gumbo and a container of rice. She loved her ice cream and rarely turned down a sweet treat. She has left a huge void in my life. I miss her every single day. But I know she is watching over me and always will.
Just before my mom took her last breathes, I asked her to send me a sign that she was ok. Oh, she has!
Suddenly, there are butterflies in my backyard, stray bird feathers often float gently near me and land gracefully by my feet. A hummingbird almost ran into the side of my head one day as I was watering mom's transplanted calla lilies in my backyard. I love you Mom. Thank you for all you have done for me and our family. You were the best Mother, Gummun and Great-Grandma. I miss visiting you and holding your hand. I know you are celebrating up in heaven with all of the angels. I will not say good-bye, rather, until we meet again. As I whispered to you on your dying bed.....save a place for me.
