Riley Scott McClellan, born on March 23, 1966, in Ojai, California, passed away on November 28, 2024, in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was 58 years old. Riley was the beloved son of Harry and Susan McClellan. He is survived by his devoted mother, Susan, his sister Coreen, and brother Garth.

Riley was a dedicated and courageous wildland firefighter, renowned for his commitment to fire prevention and his valiant efforts in protecting communities. His career was marked by bravery and a deep sense of duty, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Riley was a man of great humor, charisma, and generosity, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. His laughter and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was a loving father to his six children: Scott, Annie, (Husband Matthew), Kathryn, Emma, Hannah, and Andrew, who were the pride and joy of his life. Riley cherished his role as a grandfather to his young grandson, Austin, and found immense joy in spending time with him. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter, Chloe.  

Riley was preceded in death by his father, Harry, and his beloved wife, Anne Marie, whom he lost in 2011. Despite the profound loss, he remained a pillar of strength and love for his family.

Riley's family will forever miss his presence, his warmth, and his unwavering support. His legacy of courage, humor, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.

A private family service will be held to honor Riley's life and contributions. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to organizations supporting wildland firefighters. Riley's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived.
