Ricky's obituary
Ricky Earl Lee
August 2, 1955 – July 5, 2025
Ricky Earl Lee, 69, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by family. Born August 2, 1955, in Bastrop, Louisiana, Ricky was a man of steady hands and a softer heart than he ever let on.
A lifelong music lover, Ricky could usually be found with a guitar in hand and Beatles records spinning in the background—passing down his love of music to anyone lucky enough to sit and listen. Music wasn’t just a hobby for him; it was the language of his soul.
Ricky was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Darlene Lee, and his parents, Shirley and Sammy Sharp and Alton Lee. In Darlene’s final years, Ricky was her unwavering caretaker as she battled Alzheimer’s—a quiet testament to his loyalty and deep capacity for love.
He is survived by his children: Michelle Rhodes, Zane Lee, Ryan Lee, and Ashley Bagley. His pride extended to his grandchildren, who brought him joy: Mason Rhodes, Sean Rhodes, Jack Wright, Jase Wright, Oliver Lee, Kaylee Bagley, and Kinslee Bagley. He also leaves behind his brothers, Ralph Lee and Horace Lee, and his faithful German shepherds—Bo, Beal, and Job—who rarely left his side.
Ricky didn’t always say much, but he showed his love in the ways that mattered: a song shared, a problem quietly solved, a perfectly timed joke.
His family takes comfort knowing he’s at peace now, reunited with Darlene, likely strumming his guitar and humming along to a Beatles tune.
In his honor, play a song, enjoy the quiet, or scratch the head of a good dog. That’s how he’d want to be remembered.
A private gathering will be held to celebrate his life.
