Rick's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Rickey "Rick" Wood, fondly known as Rick, who entered into rest on March 6, 2025. Born on February 7, 1965, Rick's spirit and love for life touched many throughout his lifetime.
Rick was a man of dedication and humor. He wore his heart on his sleeve, and his legacy of generosity and love will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Amongst his greatest accomplishments included his cherished family. He was looking forward to the addition of a new grandchild this summer from Denver Wood.
He was proud to have been awarded the Army Achievement Medal for Meritorious Service, and serving in the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment, following in the footsteps of his father.
Rick was a proud and dedicated teammate at McLane Company for thirteen years, and was honored as Teammate of the Month in February. His unyielding commitment and enthusiasm were appreciated by all.
Rick leaves behind his loving wife, Stacy Wood, whom he married in 2018. His memory will live on through his sons, Matthew, Denver, Christian, and Brandon Wood; stepsons, Jason, Justin, and Jordan Denesha; grandchildren, Evan Wood, Janelle, Paisley, and McKenzie Denesha, Justin Jr. Denesha, and Julius Wood; his brother, Rocky Wood; and his sisters, Rebecca and Ruby Wood.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Kim Wood, and his nephew, Rocky Jr. Wood. Known to his grandchildren as ‘Opa’, he relished in teaching them to fish, a precious gift of time and knowledge that they will carry forward. Rick’s love will continue to flourish in the memories and stories shared by all who loved him.
As we remember Rick, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor a man greatly loved. His joy for life, dedication to others, and his unwavering love for his family are the marks of his indelible legacy.
