Rickard C. Hanson(69) of San Ramon, unexpectedly passed away on January 10, 2022, from Pancreatic Cancer. Rick was predeceased by his mother, Carol Hearn and his stepmother, Elsa Hanson, who both died in 2021. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lori Boughn Hanson, their two children, Patrick Boughn(23) and Kiernan Hanson(20) and his children, David Hanson and Ashley Pawley and 7 grandchildren. Even though they were a handful at times, these kids were Rick’s pride and joy. Family meant everything to Rick and we are very glad that his father, Bob Hanson, his sisters, Sharon Sharpe and Laurie Wray, his father-in-law, Bob Boughn, and his kids were with him in his final days.

Rick, a store manager at JCPenney, retired 6 years ago, after working with JCP for 42 years. He met so many amazing people there, including his wife, Lori. His closest friends were the people that he “coached” and worked with at JCP. 

A Celebration of Life is being planned in April, which would have been Rick’s 70th Birthday. Rick wanted us to spread love and joy and remember the good times as well as his love for all of you. He really wanted to go camping /fishing with the family, one more time, but circumstances just turned too quickly.  So, we are hoping that we can do a Hanson/Boughn Family camping trip this year in Rick’s honor. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for Rick to ease the burden of his passing for his family.
