Rick's obituary
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Rick Davis on June 30, 2025. Born on December 23, 1963, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him, characterized by his quiet, loving, and protective nature.
Rick leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love. He is survived by his devoted girlfriend, Cara Boynton, his cherished step-daughters Chelsea Elliott and Megan Raney, and his respected son-in-law, Nolan Raney. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchild, Ben Raney, and his brother, Joel Davis.
Known for his love of water, coffee, and wine, Rick also had a wide range of favourite books, music, and television shows that reflected his varied interests. A Course in Miracles was among his favoite reads, and he frequently enjoyed tunes from Jack Johnson, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, and Bad Company. His favourite TV shows included Next Level Chef and 48 Hours, and he was an avid fan of Shakespeare's performances.
Rick was a man of many hobbies, which ranged from listening to music and playing guitar to building things. He also had a love for the outdoors and stayed active by walking and biking. He cherished his home as his favorite local spot. His favourite vacation destination was Belize, and he had a fondness for the colour purple.
Rick was an accomplished man, both professionally and personally. His achievements included successfully running an IT business for twenty-five years in three states and serving as the head of IT for the Mayor of San Diego. He also had a knack for working on race boats. However, what truly defined Rick was his compassion for others. He was passionate about causes such as Meals on Wheels and helping anyone in need.
Throughout his life, Rick imparted wisdom to those around him. His advice to "love and be kind but don't take crap from anyone" is a testament to the balance he struck between compassion and self-respect. Rick's legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rick Davis will be dearly missed by all the people who loved him most. His memories will continue to live on, serving as a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
