Dick's obituary
Richard (Dick) Wallis 9/29/1037 - 9/30/2025 Died due to complications of ALS, (aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Dick closed his eyes for the last time on the night of his 88th birthday after softly singing along with John Denver”s rendition of Rocky Mountain High. He passed gently in the early morning of the next day.
Dick was a good man, a quiet man, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Preceded in death by parents George and Evalyn, his sister Mitzi, and daughter Ann Marie.
He is survived by Cookie (née Tomasello), his wife of 61 years, and sons, David (Liz), Jeff (Kelly), and Mike (Sarah), and his grandchildren Bea, Peter, Martin, Brandi (Roger),Alex, Max, Charlie, Rosalie, Logan, (Christina) and Skylar, and by great grand children Geronimo, Maddox, and Lucero
Born and raised in Colorado, Dick earned an Electrical Engineering and Business degree and U of Colorado, He carried his love of Colorado thru his life and was inspired by its lore and beauty.
Dick spent 31 years of his career with 3M until his retirement in 2000. His young family especially enjoyed his 3 year assignment in Italy as they were able to travel extensively thru East and West Europe, Scandinavia, and the Greek Islands.
He often reminded us of his 3 loves in life; His 63 Corvette, the Green Bay Packers, and Cookie (not necessarily in that order). His love of chocolate would come in as a close 4th!
We know that he is now at peace in God’s hands.
