Richard's obituary
Richard James Teasdale, Sr., 69, passed away on April 23, 2026, in Provo, Utah. He was born on May 6, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Richard lived a life filled with music, humor, and a deep love for his family and passions.
Richard was the son of Wilford J. and Marie Teasdale and grew up in a home that nurtured his many talents. From an early age, he displayed an extraordinary gift for music. A skilled pianist and organist, Richard also played the clarinet with finesse. His musical abilities became a cornerstone of his life as he volunteered his musical talents for church congregations over the course of fifty years. He also enjoyed DJ'ing and curating music to share with others.
In addition, Richard had a passion for computers and photography. He found joy in exploring technology and capturing moments through the lens of his camera. His love of cars was another defining aspect of his personality; he appreciated their design and mechanics with great enthusiasm. A devoted SciFi fan, he often enjoyed television series such as Star Trek and Twilight Zone.
As a young man, Richard served faithfully in the Belgium Brussels Mission, an experience that shaped his perspective and strengthened his faith. His dedication to service extended beyond this mission as he continued to contribute meaningfully to his community throughout his life.
He is survived by his sister Ann; his two children, Richard Teasdale Jr. and Elizabeth Chapman; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford J. and Marie Teasdale, as well as his brother Clyde.
Richard’s legacy is one of laughter, music, and devotion to those he loved. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
