Richard's obituary
Richard Robuck passed away in Des Moines, IA at 63 years old on Monday, 4/18/2022 around 3pm. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on March 31st, 2022. During his illness he was surrounded by family, friends, all people he loved.
Richard was born and raised in Southern California, more specifically Riverside area. Some of his favorite memories growing up were at the beach. Even after he moved he still cheered for the LA Rams. Other than California he has lived in Reno, Oregon, and Iowa. He said his favorite place he lived was Norwalk, IA because that is where he raised his only child, Sarah, on his own. His all time favorite memories are of her as a baby. His favorite pass-times were taking care of her and his cats and relaxing while watching sports or Law & Order. He has had many careers including owning his own roofing company, printing, firefighting, manufacturing companies, delivery driving, and more. He worked whatever hours and as many days needed in order to provide. His favorite job out of all was printing at RR Donnelley in Reno, Nevada. His passions included being a good dad, rescuing cats, helping people, going to church and reading the Bible.
He is preceded in death by his parents (Mike and Cleo Robuck), brothers (Paul Robuck and Johnny Robuck), sister (Melody Hutchinson), brother in law (Merlin Hutchinson), nephew (Curtis Wells), and cousin (Scott Robuck) as well as many more family that will welcome him with open arms in Heaven.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law (Sarah and Allen Smith), his sisters (Linda McAninch, Sharon Christensen, Tina Robuck), his brothers (Mike and Barb Robuck, Allen Robuck, Tim Robuck, Craig McAninch), his nieces (Michelle and Jordan Nicoll, Jackie Hutchinson, Becca and Ryan Gibby, Rebecca and Daniel Coleman, Lindsey McAninch), his nephews (Don Miller, Eugene Hutchinson, Virgil Hutchinson, Bryan Christensen, Mike McAninch, Lester Holley IV), his cousins (Helen Stepp-Miles, Randy Stephenson, Opal and Brandon Hobbs, Beverly Lunetta, Theresa Robuck, Sheryl Pursifull, Stacy Fosado, Don and Jennifer Robuck), as well as many more family. Also his daughter’s friends that were more like daughters to him, Jamie Eginoire and Desiree Miller.
There will be two Celebration of Life ceremonies. The first one will be held in Riverside County, CA 3pm-7pm on 5/7/22(a Saturday). The exact address will be disclosed after Monday 4/25/22. The second ceremony will be in Des Moines, IA on 6/19/22 (Sunday/Fathers Day). The exact address and time for it will be disclosed at a later date.
He was a man of God and his family is at peace knowing he in Heaven watching over them, no longer in pain. He was a great man that will be missed dearly by all who got to know him.
