Richard “RJ” Curran, 37, of Slidell, LA, tragically rode to heaven 11 October, 2023. He was born Byron Cooley, in Pontiac, Michigan on 24 March, 1986, to Byron Cooley and Jacklyn Curran.

RJ, the most loving father, brother,  son and friend, is survived by his daughter, Riley; his father, Byron (Denise) and mother Jacklyn; sisters Debbie, Sarah (Nathan) Domingo, Christy (Dave) Paselk, Roberta (Jeremy), and Jessica; brothers Shony, Justin, and Joshua (Belle); girlfriend Charlotte, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Upon graduation from high school in Mount Pleasant, Michigan in 2005, RJ joined the family business and eventually became a licensed plumber.  His occupation took him to New Orleans as part of the Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, where he met his beloved daughters’ mother, Jessica. RJ built a beautiful community of family and friends in the New Orleans area during his 13 year residency.

RJ was loved by everyone who met him and could always bring a smile to your face.

RJ was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of all who had the pleasure to know him. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in all he knew.
