I'm more grateful for Rick every single day. He continues to teach and inspire me.
Martin Cunniff
Howrey & Simon, RuyakCherian LLP
I worked with Rick at Howrey and at RuyakCherian.  I went to two or three trials with him including CCNV v.  Six Unknown Marshals which ended dragnet warrantless sweeps of homeless shelters for outstanding warrants.  But my best memory is sneaking out of work and watching World Cup games with Rick.  We were both soccer players -- me a former player and out of shape and Rick who kept it up and was always in great shape.  RIP my friend.
I have fond memories of working with Rick at Howrey and occasionally bumping into him around downtown after Howrey. He was on of the happiest, most positive persons I worked with. Rick was an amazing lawyer. He is missed.

Rick -

Thank you for being the big brother everyone needs. I remember asking you "what is our plan" when talking about Dad and his decline.  You answered "why does everyone think I have the answers?"  Well big brother, because you walked with confidence, you always said the right thing and anything I wondered about you had the answers. You did not judge others, but had a strong opinion about everything. I admired that. Sure, we can figure things out and we will, but I will forever miss your voice, your hugs and your strength. I can't listen to John Denver without seeing your face, your blonde hair and hearing you and Scott sing.

Thank you for showing up to Tim's senior night, for being there in the stands after we lost dad. For cheering so loud and showing your unwavering supporting when you knew we needed it.

Thank you for including us in the bowl games when OSU made it to AZ - which was often, Those times I will cherish. Thanks for being patient as we left the stadium and I could not remember where our car was.  Thanks for showing Emily and Tim such amazing love and being a great role model. We needed you. We were lucky to have you.

Oh and thanks for being older than me and having cute friends in high school and bringing them to the house.

Your faith in God, family and your spirit for which you lived life inspires me. We all say "what would Rick do" in so many situations.  I miss you so much.

Love you forever - Lo

Despite our heavy hearts, we feel blessed to have had Rick and his family enrich our lives.
