On January 6th, 2023, Rick passed away from long term health complications, due to esophageal cancer.

Rick was born August 15, 1962 in Detroit Michigan, to mother and father Larry and Norma Rice. He spent a great deal of his life traveling with his parents and brother Mike Rice, as devotees to the Lord and church. He often sang for his father, Larry Rice’s church while Mike Rice would accompany on keyboard and piano. You could say music runs in the family’s genes. 

Rick had a number of hobbies and interests, including caring for his houseplants, pets, audio and video equipment, tech stuff, and spending time with friends and family. He really liked to make a point to go out and find someone to help, while he was out and about.

Rick will be dearly missed by his children, Loretta Rice, Noah Rice, Jonah Rice, his brother Mike Rice and a huge extended family, friends, neighbors etc, whom he was blessed to have in his life. He was really so grateful for the support and kindness that you all showed him during hard times and moments of anxiety.

Rick had his ups and downs as anyone does in life, but the important thing is he left this world having grown spiritually and as a selfless and loving person. What more could any of us ask for? That we grow and glow in this sometimes very dark world. Thank you for being a part of Rick’s life journey.

I like to think Norma and Larry were there to welcome him with love. Cheers to the man we all knew! He was one funny, wild guy and had a pretty rich life. Rest well, Rick. You fought the good fight. We love you. 💜
