Rick's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Morton who left this world on December 4, 2025. Born on December 9, 1954, Rick spent his life bringing joy and warmth to the lives of those around him.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Toshia Morton and Heather Morton, and Asher Peterson his grandson. Rick was predeceased by his father, Richard Morton, and his mother, Hilda Morton. The love for his daughters was evident in every aspect of his life, and it's clear that they were some of his greatest accomplishments until his grandson Asher was born and then he became his greatest joy.
Rick was a simple man, who found comfort in his favorite foods like steak, salad, potatoes, fish, and his personal favorite, cherry cheesecake. He was a fan of James Patterson's works, often found with a book in his hand. Pepsi was his usual drink of choice.
Rick had a deeply ingrained love for music which was reflected in his favorite tunes like Rocket Man, Candle in the Wind, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Hey Jude, Folsom Prison Blues, and Sweet Caroline. He was an enthusiastic fan of Star Wars, Alien, The Great Escape, The Sting, The Verdict, and Presumed Innocent.
Passionate about sports, he cheered for the Dallas Stars, Houston Astros, San Antonio Iguanas, and Dallas Cowboys. His love for his home was no less than his love for recreational activities, which usually included spending time with his family, watching movies, and reading a book.
Rick's personality was as colorful as his favorite color, blue. He was simple, loving, and kind. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
His departure leaves a void that can never be filled. His presence was a gift, we find solace knowing he is now at peace. He is deeply missed.
