Rich's obituary
Reverend Richard Louis Lindeman, age 71 of Coon Rapids, MN unexpectedly left his earthly home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2022.
Richard Lindeman was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on December 22, 1950. He was married to his wife Jan Lindeman for 48 years. He earned a Bachelor of Science at Concordia College, a Master of Sacred Theology, and a Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary. He was ordained on July 11, 1976, and served as a pastor at St. John’s and Holy Cross Lutheran Churches in Cole Camp Missouri, St Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton Wisconsin, Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Decatur Illinois, St Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington Minnesota, and Olive Branch Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. He served during the Desert Storm conflict as a chaplain in the Army Reserves. He was an adjunct professor of New Testament Greek at Concordia University St. Paul and he worked as a chaplain at the Lino Lakes Correctional Facility.
Following his retirement in 2010, he volunteered at Faith Lutheran Church by leading Bible studies, singing in the choir, and was active in their social ministries. He was a lifelong Bible scholar and had a passion for sharing his new insights. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, siblings, kids, and grandkids and went out of his way to reach out to support all people. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Richard Lindeman is survived by his wife Jan Lindeman of Coon Rapids, MN, his 7 children: Tim (Julia), Lisa (Jesse), David (Apryl), Christy, Kari (Justin), Heidi (Darwin), and Michele (Aaron), and 17 grandchildren: Jo Ellen, Richard, Otto; James, Will; Adelyn, Lewis, Theodore; Haley; Daniel, Frederick, Justin Jr.; Arya, Zoe, Scarlett; Savannah and Hunter. Richard is also survived by 5 siblings: Karl, Paul, Roland, James, and Linda. He was preceded in death by his parents Eunice and Roland.
The visitation will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to Faith Lutheran Church for the Harbor Food Shelf or a charity of your choice in Rich’s name.
