Richard Hood, 79, of Anchorage, AK,  passed away on October 30, 2022 at Providence hospital in Anchorage. , after  a 6 year battle with stage 4 cancer only to succumb to severe heart disease which he was unaware of having.Richard was born  February 26, 1943 to Don and Dolly Hood during a blackout in St Louis.MO.  After Richard graduated from Hancock high school  in 1960, he pursued a degree in 

Fire science  at University of Alaska.  After graduation, he worked in fire department.  Richard was passionate about

 and loved what he did for a living.
