Richard Harkness passed away on November 21, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Lorrie, his children Erin and Ryan, his step children Cassandra, Anders, and Sven and eight grandchildren.  Born and raised in Saratoga, California, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico with his first wife Sandy and their two  young children in the 1970s. Sandy died in an automobile accident at a young age.. Richard then moved with his two children to Texas to be near family. In 1986, Richard reconnected with and married a previous high school girl friend Lorrie, who lived with her three children in Colorado.  Together they raised the five children, Richard was a homebuilder and in retirement a woodworker.  He loved skiing and biking in the Colorado Rockies. In 2020, Richard longed to return to California to an active retirement community in Brentwood. Unfortunately, his life there was cut short due to his losing his battle with cancer.
