Richard E. Norman

December 10, 1957 – April 10, 2025

Richard Edward Norman, born on December 10, 1957, in Rocky Mount Virginia to the late James and Lillie Norman, passed away on April 10, 2025, leaving behind a life full of love, impact, and unforgettable memories.

Richard's journey began with promise and perseverance. A natural athlete, he excelled at football in high school, earning a well-deserved scholarship to West Virginia University. After college, he moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he began working at Anheuser-Busch. Though he found success there, it was in the automotive industry that Richard discovered his true calling.

A man who never met a stranger, Richard thrived at every dealership he worked at. His winning smile, heartfelt conversations, and honest dedication to helping others made him a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. More than just a professional, he was a mentor, a listener, and a daily source of encouragement to many. His impact reached far beyond the showroom floor—he helped people find confidence, direction, and hope.

Richard is survived by his children: Richard M. Norman, Kaylyn (Jarret) Raub, Kennedy Norman, and Anaiah Curtis; his loving sisters: Sabrina Witcher of Kimball, WV, Angela Parker and Kay Frances Flowers, both of San Diego, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who adored him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillie Norman; his brother, Melvin Johnson; and sister, Constance Cunningham—all of Detroit, MI and sister Shelia Footes of Columbus, OH.

Those who knew Richard will remember him for his warmth, his laughter, and his unwavering ability to make others feel seen and valued. His legacy is one of service, love, and strength—and it will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on April 26, 2025, at Northwest Presbyterian Church, 6400 Post Road in Dublin, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12-1:30 with the service immediately following.
