Over the years, I had met Dave on occasion when our investor Capria Ventures (then, Unitus) had get-togethers with its portfolio companies. I found him to be thoughtful and full of life. His laughter was infectious. One day when I was driving back home in my car, I dropped him off at his hotel on the way. That interaction left a huge impression on me. I came away thinking Dave was no ordinary human being. He was kind and respectful. We bonded over our special love for dogs. In life, each of us meet and interact with so many people, but some stand out. Dave is one of them. It was my privilege to have met him and had a meaningful connection. May his soul rest in peace.

Dave was a tough negotiator, a hard man, but soft inside. He cared for Indian entrepreneurs deeply, believed in us. Always supportive and cheering us on. Om Shanti.

I met Dave 10 years ago and only spent a handful of hours with him. Among the thousands of conversations we all have every year, he broke the routine, his spirit shone through.

May his loved ones know that we are lucky to have worked with him.
