The world lost one of its best men ever when Richard Dale Jacobs, Jr. died. Born in 1953, he died on November 4, 2019. Richard was an eternal optimist, he hoped for the best in people, even when they let him down. He spent much of his life working for Norfolk Southern before taking a buyout and becoming a small business owner. Even though they took many cruises, he surprised Milissa with a trip through Las Vegas excited that he was going to be a 'Doctor’s’wife'. The only time that he broke his word with her was when he surprised her with their bloodhound puppy, Clementine. Richard never stopped surprising Milissa. From their first impromptu trip to the Upper Peninsula to the trip they made to Las Vegas, he was so happy when he surprised someone. He loved his friends and family, his old Railroad buddies, like Lee Garber and Mike Jones, were always important to him, and he never hesitated to lend a hand when it was asked. Sometimes when he wasn’t asked. He told Milissa of the time when he was in Kindergarten and Linda, his sister, dealt with a bully that was bothering him. Richard was kind, dry, generous, and a secret lover of their cats. Every year he and Milissa would join Aunt Betty and other family members to take a paddle boat ride. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Shriner, his father Richard Sr, and his stepmother Sylvia, and also his Mother- in law, Marsha Rose. He leaves behind not only Milissa Jacobs, but also his Aunt Betty Shriner, his sister Linda Jacobs, her son, and his stepbrother Rick, his wife, and their children. Also, Milissa’s siblings Mitch, Ken, Lee, Kevin, and Shawna along with their spouses and children all adored him. He was the love of Milissa’s life and one of the best men in the world. Every day after his passing will be a little sadder.
