Happy Heavenly Birthday, Rich. We miss you here.
Here we at 3 years since your passing my Richard. We are still dealing with our loss and if truth be told we will always be doing so. Love and miss you so much words cannot express.  Thank you to all who sent me a note or text or a phone call in this rough time of the year.  Love to you while you deal with your loss as well.

Rich was a wonderful husband , father and brother n'law. He'd been in love with my sister since before I met him when I was 17. They did everything together. He is sorely missed by all. We love and miss you Rich, but know you are in a more
beautiful place. God be with you.....
It has been 2 years since this wonderful man left this earth. I miss him with all that I am but know he is no longer suffering. He gave me so much and he cared so much about so many things. This day will be with us forever of course but I am moving forward just the same, as he would want me to. Love to all the messages and phone calls received today. Love you my dear husband.
When I first met Rich I must say I was a little intimidated by him. I quickly learned that underneath the tough looking exterior, was a loving, kind, fun man with a genuine smile and twinkle in his eye. Early on, our relationship was one of a father figure, as I grew up with Melissa, but later in life I really enjoyed getting to know him in a different capacity as I worked with him on a project for the Health Department just a bit before he retired. Our weekly phone call meetings were about 5 minutes of business and 15 minutes of just checking in on each other's families and life in general. I really enjoyed that. It's taken me way too long to sign this guestbook, as I struggled to find the right words. But I now know there are never the right words, just lots of love, and wonderful memories of a great man. You are missed Rich.

Blessed friendship thirty plus years with the Curtin family. Rich was deeply passionate in his beliefs, kind, thoughtful with a comedic wit. See him freely teaching his version of an Irish jig in Heaven! Gone from our sight, yet never from our hearts and memory. My deepest love and sympathy to Donna, Jason, Melissa, Lisa, Joe, Samantha, Makayla, Conor, Brandon and family.

Trying to think of a memory to share about Rich we don't even know where to begin. There are thousands of memories from the last 40 years, some ridiculously hilarious, some really sad, and some truly bizarre. Our families literally grew up together, and we have been together through pretty much everything life can throw at us. We have stood by each other as life time friends do and it seems impossible that he is gone now. There is a hole in our lives, and we have been heartsick. Our families will all be together again and will do as he wished and celebrate his life. DC, Mel, Jay - you know we love you. We have always been and shall always be your friends.

I didn't know Richard well, but he married my dear friend, Donna. She always spoke of him with love. I know he will be heartfully missed and remembered well by all. My deepest sympathy to all his family and friends.

There are a few but the BEST is when I bought really, really loud noise makers for all the grandchildren for the Kentucky Derby party at Jason & Lisa’s. Rich’s face was hilarious and forever in my memory but he still liked me after. 😍😍 Both Lou and I were given the chance to work with him 2 years ago this week and it was the best two days and we haven’t had anything like it since! We miss you Rich!

No one can measure the loss you are feeling now, but the love he left behind is immeasurable. Let those memories warm your heart and know that he is with you every day. He loved you all so much and we are heartbroken that he's been taken away. He was a wonderful friend, the best really. More like a brother to Dennis and he is loved and missed.

One of my funniest memories of Rich was at Brian’s going away party for the coast guard. As we all know, Rich was always a beer connoisseur and would never even consider low grade options such as Budweiser or Coors. Well, at Brian’s going away party he must have been bait and switched because he was walking around with a bud lite. The shock on his face after we pointed it out was priceless. 🙂

I always enjoyed Rich’s authenticity. He was honest, gentle, and gruff in a single package which to me, made him one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I will miss you Rich, I will miss our conversations, and I know your family will miss you tremendously. I don’t think I know of any other family who loved their father/husband/grandfather more.
I heard this in a movie once and I never forgot it. “The greatest gift you’ll ever know is just to love and be loved in return”. Your dad loved and was loved, I loved him, that’s all any of us can hope for. My deepest condolences to Melissa, Jason and Donna
I have been wanting to write something for a while now but there is so much to say. I am still in shock as I'm sure his family is as well. Rich was my supervisor for 10 years. I have so many memories of him that it would take forever to type! He taught me so much in those 10 years and was one of the best supervisors I have ever had. We worked great together! I was the one always in the community and Rich was happy being in the office working on the contracts and budgets. Was a perfect partnership! I loved hearing about his family, especially his grandchildren. My children are the same age as his grandchildren and we would share stories all the time. I always knew on March 17th, every year, Rich would not be at work. He used to say it was his “high holy day”! Rich couldn’t wait to retire and move to NC…away from all the traffic and people. He wanted to live quietly in the mountains with Donna. Once I left Pinellas, I stayed in touch with Rich as much as I could. He was a great man and will be forever missed by many especially his family who he loved dearly.

It was my pleasure to work with Rich, he was a trusted community leader and friend of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. I had the opportunity of working on the STEPS project with Rich as a community partner and I will forever be grateful to his leadership for this project. I also had the pleasure of seeing Rich each year at the St. Patrick's Day Irish festival in downtown Dunedin. He was indeed a proud Irish man. He will be missed by many.
