Richard's obituary

Richard Burnett passed away unexpectedly Tuesday April 5, 2022 at Celebration hospital. Three of his 5 daughters Cheri, Michelle and Kelley were by his side. The rest of his family and community wished for a miracle recovery.

Richard was born on a farm in Galax, Virginia to very humble beginnings. The youngest boy of a family of 6 children, Richard, or Dickie as they called him, worked hard to help support his family. In high school he split his time between farm work and a local flower shop. Dreaming of a different life he joined the Navy when he turned 18. He served his country on the USS Independance 1963-1967. Richard met his loving wife Deanna in 1978 in Ohio, fell in love and married intertwining two families. Richard and Deanna moved to Florida in 1981 Where he worked for Walt Disney World for the next 28 years. Sadly, Richard lost his soulmate Deanna October 20, 2021. Devastated by the loss, Richard worked hard to put himself back together. He continued putting on his funny hats and costumes attempting to get a smile and a laugh from everyone he met. Despite his best efforts we believe he died of a broken heart. Richard was a selfless, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by Daughters Cheri and Dawn, Step-Daughters April, Kelley and Michelle, 8 grandchildren - Jayme, Amanda, Lindsey, Zachary, Kristen, Parker, Lucia and Nico and Great-Grandchildren Abigail, Bradley, Zander, Blakely, Zayne.
