I was Richard's best friend since we were 5 years old, when our mothers signed us up for kindergarten. I remember the day like it was yesterday. My birthday is May 28th and his was May 2nd.we went all through school together, we hunted together and did all the things together. He bought a 1955 Oldsmobile, it was blue and white and was a stick shift. In 1957 I bought a new Ford convertible and then he did too..I worked at the Ford store in Pittsburg Mersereau Ford. He was my best man when I was married in 1957.

I guess I knew him better than anyone. He taught me to finish sheet-rock. I knew him when he worked on the beet farm on Ryer Island. That's where he got the money to buy the Oldsmobile

I bet I told you stuff you didn't know before.

I know everything  up until the time I move away to Wyoming.

This is Sherri..Richards daughter. I want to speak as if I’m talking to him. Dad you were the absolute best dad that anyone could ever have had. You never failed us and lived every moment to make sure we had everything we ever needed. I hope that you can see some of your good in me. I’m sorry dad that I don’t have a way to tell everyone you know that you arent here anymore. But to me you will always be here. I will carry you in my heart till I someday see you again.
