I was Richard's best friend since we were 5 years old,when our mothers signed us up for kindergarten. I remember the day like it was yesterday. My birthday is May 28th and his was May 2nd.we went all through school together, we hunted together and did all the things together. He bought a 1955 Oldsmobile, it was blue and white and was a stick shift. In 1957 I bought a new Ford convertible and then he did too..I worked at the Ford store in Pittsburg Mersereau Ford. He was my best man when I was married in 1957.

I guess I knew him better than anyone. He taught me to finish sheet-rock. I knew him when he worked on the beet farm on Ryer Island. That's where he got the money to buy the Oldsmobile
