It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Back. Born on May 12, 1955, he was a beacon of kindness and resilience throughout his life, and fully embodied the traits that made him a beloved family man. Richard left us on April 8, 2025, leaving a void in the hearts of his loved ones.

Richard Back was a loving husband to his wife Lonnie Back, and a doting father to his daughter Kelli Melton. He was also a proud grandfather to Jena Ornelas, Michael Henrich, Benjamin Henrich, He was a great grandfather to, Sky Ornelas, Serenity Ornelas, and Able Henrich and Lottie Henrich. His siblings Judy Teityen, Tom Back, and Karen Maren survive him as well. Richard was predeceased by his mother Ruth Back, father Clyde Back, brother Davin Back, and brother-in-law Michael Maren.

A man of simple pleasure, Richard loved a meal of steak and potatoes, accompanied by a glass of milk or chocolate milk. He found solace in the music of Jimi Hendrix, a sentiment he often shared with his family. Richard cherished driving through the mountains, spending time fishing, and tinkering with his tractor and camper. In each of these activities, he found joy and serenity.

Known for his understanding nature and loving heart, Richard was a hero in his family's eyes. He taught the most important lesson - to be the best one can be. His greatest personal accomplishments were his roles as a father, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather. The lasting legacy he left behind was demonstrating to his children and grandchildren how to give and receive unconditional love and kindness.
