Rick's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Ames, who departed this world on January 1, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on January 19, 1945, Richard lived a life that, while having an end, was filled with love, adventure, and a deep commitment to his family and passions.

His journey began in a humble environment, shaped by the loving care of his beloved mother, Juanita. Rick cherished his upbringing, which instilled in him the values of hard work, loyalty, and community. Throughout his life, these principles guided him and became a cornerstone of his character.

Family meant everything to Rick. He is survived by a loving family who will carry forward his legacy: his devoted wife, Terry Ames, and his cherished children, Jill Breen (Sean), Kelly Duncan (Mark). Additionally, Rick was a proud grandfather Ashley Ames, Jenna Eckhardt (Peter), Evan Breen (Miranda), and Ryan Finley (Melissa). And Great Grandfather to Theodore Finley, Leah Eckhardt, and Etta Rae Breen. Each of them held a special place in Rick's heart, and he took great joy in their accomplishments and adventures.

In addition to his family, Rick was the founder of the Road Dogs Motorcycle Club, a passionate community that embodied the spirit of camaraderie and adventure. Riding through the open roads and sharing stories with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts brought him immense joy and fulfillment. This club was not just a group of riders; it was a brotherhood, a family forged under the sun and the thrill of the ride, where laughter and friendship flourished.

Rick's zest for life and unwavering spirit left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man of many stories, each one reflecting his humor, resilience, and wisdom. Rick’s kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he touched the lives of countless individuals throughout his life’s journey.

As we reflect on Rick's life, we are reminded of the moments filled with joy, his warm smile, and the laughter that followed him wherever he went. While we mourn the loss of such a remarkable person, we also celebrate the beautiful memories he created and the love he shared.

In honor of Rick's wishes, those who knew and loved him are encouraged to remember him through the stories and memories shared, keeping his spirit alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.

Farewell, Rick Ames. Your legacy of love and adventure will forever be cherished, and you will be deeply missed.
