Rex's obituary
He leaves behind his three children: Thomas Upham (m.Karen), Susan Lutes (m. Maynard Lutes) and Edward Rex Casstevens. Four grandchildren: Jennifer (David Hahn) , Carly (Josh Pagano), David Upham , and Michael Upham. And three great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Sophia Lena(Greiner) and Thomas Henry and his brother Kent Beals (m. Vera). Also his first wife Jacqueline (Graves), his second wife Mary (Stone), and his third wife of 42 years Ruth V. (Harrison)
Rex served in the Army Air Force in the pilot training program at the end of WWII. As the war ended he was never able to complete the training program so many years later in his 80s he took flying lessons. He also took a ride in a hot air balloon. After discharge from the army, he became a carpenter. One of his hobbies was also woodworking and crafting fine furniture. His other hobbies included restoring, collecting, and building clocks.
Rex loved to hunt and took many trips out of state for pheasant hunting and even wild pig hunting in his 80s. He never lost his love of life, his curiosity about people and things. And although he was basically a shy person he would strike up a conversation with strangers asking them to talk about themselves. He was a gentleman, kind and generous and will be missed by his family and many friends.
