Rob and I are so very saddened by your loss of  Reuben. Please know you are in our hearts and prayers to our gracious and loving God, May the peace of God, which surpasses all human understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus! Philippians 4:7
A light dimmed far too soon, prayers that Rueben has found his peace in the arms of Jesus. Toby, Rachel, Josiah, Karis, and Micah - we are here for any support we can offer your family. Rueben was always the softspoken, sweetest kid, who's smile would warm my heart. I look back on photos from scouts and his spirit shines bright..remembering memories of camp weekends, popcorn sales, scavenger hunts through the city, year end events, etc. Rueben was a joy.  He was loved and will continue to be loved in memory by so many. Prayers to your family as you navigate these new waters, to all of his friends who will miss him dearly as the school year and scouts begin, and to his MTB teammates. May this MTB season's riders keep his memory alive and "Ride for Rueben"! Prayers to all friends and family!

Reuben was the first person Shae would find when church was over to chat with. Shae always liked to get to confirmation early because he knew Reuben would be there early and the favorite topic was usually what did your dad get you for dinner. It was usually Culvers which Shae loves. They often got dragged along as the younger brothers with the older siblings on their weekly outing to Culvers after youth group and had each other to hang out with.

Reuben loved my taco dip and him and Shae always wanted me to double the recipe when our families got together so they could eat more.

I always had a dream of decorating my front porch with real evergreen garland and Reuben made this dream come true when I bought some from his scouts fundraiser. He then proceeded to not ask me the following year which led to me relentlessly reminding him of the fact until the following Christmas when I once again bought some from him.

Another favorite memory is when we all went for a walk with the dogs from the Schmidt house. Reuben, Shae, and Hudson ended up walking all the way to the swimming beach and spending hours swimming and having a blast. Again, last summer Rachel and I planned a picnic/swim day and spent hours talking on the beach while the boys once again spent hours in the lake and then Shae ended up going home and hanging out the rest of the day.

Shae is going to miss his sweet friend so much as will our whole family. We will hold these sweet memories close to our hearts forever and long for the day we see him again in heaven.

Our hearts are heavy and filled with grief for your family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all. We are incredibly sorry for your loss.
We are so sorry for your loss, and our hearts are heavy for your family. We are lifting you up in prayer and will continue, asking the Lord to give comfort. Please know how much we love your family, and we are here to serve you if we can. Sam wanted me to share that he is praying for you all as well and is available to Micah to talk or hang out any time.

We are heartbroken to hear of Reuben’s passing. Know you’re all in our thoughts and prayers and will be here for you in any capacity we can be of service. Sending big hugs.

On behalf of Parker and Gavin Berg, and our entire family, I am truly so sorry for the loss of Reuben. Parker was thrilled that he and Reuben got to know each other over the last year at school, and he was especially looking forward to the mountain biking season with Reuben. I often walk during practices, sneaking peaks at the boys while they wait to take off on their bikes. Parker and Reuben were always next to each other, smiling and laughing. As a mother, it gave me peace to know that Parker had found such a sweet and kind friend in Reuben. If there is anything our family can do, please know that we want to help. Also, please know that Gavin is here for Micah too. We are praying for peace and strength for your family.

So sorry to hear of this loss!  Our prayers are with you Schmidt family.

I am so sad for your loss. With 4 kids of my own, I feel this deep sense of pain because it is not difficult to imagine being in your shoes. Our faith remains. Jesus has already finished the race, and now Reuben is with Him. I am praying for your family over and over.
My condolences to Reuben's family. I first met Reuben he and I somewhat hated eachother but when I talked to him we'd always laugh in our science class and we would always have fun arguing over science labs and what i wouldn't give to see him one last time. Please pray for him.

The word sorry doesn’t even begin to cover the heartbreak of this loss. Jackson has always spoken so highly of Reuben. He will be deeply missed.

With heavy hearts we send our love and prayers.  We are here for you all.

A great kid, I admired for his compassion and drive.

Our arms and home are open anytime ❤️

Debi and I are so so sorry for your loss. We pray for God’s resurrection peace to be with you and all your loved ones
