Reo's obituary
On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Reo Keanu Walksoverice Ramirez, loving son, father, partner, and brother, passed away at age 27. Born to Irene Medina and Nieves Ramirez, Reo was an accomplished individual who was described by everyone he met as being “larger than life.”
Reo entered the Army when he was 19 years old and served his country for seven years. He started as an infantryman and rapidly worked his way to achieving many different accomplishments. His Enlisted Record Brief consisted of being a Team Leader and having earned Expert Infantryman Badge, as well as graduating from: Master Gunnery School, Airborne School, Sniper School, and Ranger School. He achieved all of this before he hit the age of 25.
In the Army, Reo was described as being one of the best soldiers to come along in the last 20 years. His strength, dedication, skill, knowledge, and devotion to his country were unmatched- he was able to master whatever he put his mind to. Being in the Army was all Reo wanted to do when he was growing up. He joined the Army so he could protect those who could not protect themselves.
Along with being an accomplished, celebrated and decorated Army Ranger, Reo was also proud of his Native American culture and heritage, often participating and dancing in powwows, singing, making his own beadwork, performing ceremonies, passing down lessons from his ancestors, and so much more. Reo was Crow, Comanche, and Pueblo.
After getting out of the Army, Reo pursued a career in acting, and made appearances as an extra in Taylor Sheridan’s 1883, and was currently working on the film set of Kevin Costner’s upcoming movie, Horizon. Reo loved acting and bringing his talents and Native American culture and knowledge to the big screen.
In his free time, Reo enjoyed hunting, camping, riding broncs and bulls, spending time with his nieces and nephews, building houses, and helping others. Reo was known to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, and often dedicated his time to meeting the needs of everyone around him. He could strike up a conversation with anyone he passed on the street, and he wasn’t afraid to do it. He also spoke multiple languages: English, Spanish, Navajo, Crow, and Russian.
If you were lucky enough to meet Reo, you were lucky enough to meet one of the most unique, talented, spirited, remarkable individuals to have walked this Earth. Reo was wise beyond his years, with a quick-witted sense of humor and a generous spirit. Reo is survived by his large, loving family, many friends, and the love of his life, Jensie Bahr. Reo is preceded in death by his son, Kenai Ramirez.
