Dear Desai family,

I am so deeply sorry about Reunka's passing. I never met Renuka but heard many delightful stories about her over the years. A favorite was hearing about Reunka's carefully orchestrated plans to get to the airport after visiting Karishma in New Brunswick. I also enjoyed a story about when Reunka commandeered an entire kitchen at a restaurant.

I loved seeing photos of Reunka, especially her joyful face. She really looks so much like Karishma.

Thank you for inviting me to her funeral rites. I was very moved to see the merging of heart and mind, and the careful delivery of a beloved mum to her resting place.

Sending love to you and your family during this time.

(friend of Karishma's from Teachers College)
Dear Karishma, Amish, your dad, and family, I am heartbroken by your mom's passing. I regret that I didn't have the chance to know your mom beyond a quick Zoom hello. Her radiance in life, and carried forth by you, is a beautiful legacy. Aron and I send prayers, love, and light.

Dearest Desai Family,

I am terribly sorry for your tragic loss. I cannot imagine how one recovers from such trauma, but hope and pray these days too shall pass.  I don’t have any recent memories to share, but still fondly think back on the times I was able to do bhavgeet practice with Renu Auntie at shibir. I recall such a beautiful voice to match such a beautiful smile. I hope you can find solace and pride in the fact that your wife/mom made a lasting impression on so many lives. I will always remember your family  as such a kind and loving one, with such wonderful parents at the center. I am so so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all. JY 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Dear Karishma and Family,

I am so very sorry.  Renuka was always smiling and a joy to work with.  She was so proud of her family and always talked about her grandchildren which gave her much happiness.  I will miss her.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts as your family searches for peace and strength during this very difficult time.

Amish, Karishma, Harish Uncle and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Renuka Auntie played such a big role for our family and in mine and my sisters upbringing. When my parents were working and dad was traveling, she would babysit us, bring us over after Swadhyaya for lunch, and always was there for us. Her smile lit up a room the moment she walked into it. She will be dearly missed and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,

Neil

Sending lots of love and prayers to Karishma and family.
