Renee Feline Ford-Thomas

June 1, 1969 – December 14, 2025

Renee Feline Ford-Thomas, age 56, passed away on December 14, 2025. She was born on June 1, 1969, in Monroe, Louisiana, and later moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she resided for most of her life.

Renee was the beloved widow of Alex Thomas and the devoted mother of Alexandria Ford-Thomas and a  very proud and devoted  grandmother to Lela Ford-Thomas. She was the cherished daughter of Cora Ford and Charles Ford, and sister to Kenny  Ford (wife, Stacie Ford) and Chadwick Ford (wife, Corrie Ford). Renee was also a loving aunt to Blake, Kennedy, Cassidy, Maria, and Allen Ford.

Renee attended Detroit Public Schools, graduated from Henry Ford High School, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University.  She dedicated many years of service to the State of Michigan Department of Corrections and retired following the passing of her husband. After retirement, she briefly relocated to Houston, Texas, before returning to Detroit to embrace her role as a proud and present grandmother.

Renee enjoyed fishing, traveling and scrapbooking. She was known for her quiet strength, kindness, and dedication to helping others. She remained actively involved in community service, volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program throughout Metro Detroit, where she provided meals and companionship to elderly residents.

Memorial Service

A memorial service in honor of Renee Feline Ford-Thomas will be held on Saturday December 27, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In accordance with her wishes, a releasing of ashes ceremony will take place in Aruba at a later date.

Renee will be remembered for her devotion to family, her lifelong commitment to service, and the compassion she extended to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.
