Renee's obituary

Renee Brickell Piper, age 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 18, 2026, at Presbyterian Saint Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

Born on December 1, 1958, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard and Regina Brickell as the youngest of five siblings, Renee was raised in Denver and graduated from East High School in 1977. She later graduated in 1981 from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business.

On April 24, 1982, she married her soulmate, Jerry Piper. Together they shared more than four decades of marriage and built a life grounded in faith, family, and hard work. Renee was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters, Aundrea Renee Piper-Feldkamp and Maria Sue Piper-Keene. She spent her life pouring her heart into her family, ensuring that no one ever left her home with an empty stomach or a heavy heart.

As “Nana,” Renee’s joy knew no bounds. She delighted in every moment spent with her grandsons, Lochlan and Bowen, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of her newest grandchild. She rarely missed a school program, birthday, or family event, making it a priority to show up with enthusiasm and encouragement. Renee treasured her role as a grandmother, taking time to write thoughtful notes and letters to her grandsons, becoming their devoted penpal and constant source of love and affirmation. Being Nana was one of her greatest joys, and her excitement in celebrating each milestone will remain a lasting gift to her family.

Renee worked alongside her husband in building and operating Piper Sprinkler, their irrigation and construction business, which grew into a well-respected company within the community. She later managed the Denver Social Register & Record, where she was known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication. In later years, Renee devoted herself to Piper Ranch, the family ranch she and Jerry established, where she found great joy in caring for the land and creating a welcoming home for family and friends.

Renee will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit. She possessed a warm presence, a gracious nature, and a genuine interest in others. Her laughter and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She had a lifelong love for animals and believed deeply in caring for all living things. At Piper Ranch, Renee provided a home to many animals over the years, including cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, reindeer, bison, and local wildlife. Her beloved cats, Tuxie and Precious, remained constant companions and a source of comfort to her. Her care and compassion reflected her belief that every life had value.

Renee is survived by her husband, Jerry Piper; her daughters, Aundrea Piper-Feldkamp and Maria Piper-Keene; her grandsons, Lochlan and Bowen; and a grandchild expected in the coming months. She is also survived by her three older brothers Rick, Randy and Reed her sister, Roxanne.

Renee’s life was marked by love, service, and quiet strength. While our world is dimmer without her, her warmth lives on in the traditions she passed down and the kindness she instilled in us all.
