Rene J. Perron, an adoring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away surrounded by his loved ones on January 25th, 2021 at 80 years old. If you knew Rene, he would add 10 years, insisting he was 90 and making sure you knew he looked good for his age.

He was born May 26th, 1940 and was one of 13 children. Rene was raised in Roberval, Quebec, Canada by his father Pierre Perron and mother Rose-Anna Larouche. He resided in Terryville CT with his wife the late Therese.
Rene was preceded in death by his one and true love of 58 years his wife Therese, his father, Pierre, his mother, Rosa-Anna. Along with his brothers and sisters, Gilberte, Jeannette, Stanislas, Albert, Edouard, Blanche, Pierre, Rita, and Anne-Marie. He is survived by his brother Gerard and little sister, Louisette AKA Hollywood, along with his son Dave Perron and daughter Linda Lydem, and son-in-law Bruce Lydem. He leaves behind 5 grandchildren Michael Lydem, Justin Lydem (Karla Webb), Melanie Lydem (Justin Chamberland), Kayla Perron, and Kyle Perron. Along with his 3 great grandchildren, Shawn Lydem, Anthony Lydem, and James Lydem. Rene will be missed by many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Rene was an ironworker for almost half of his life, thirty-one years (1964-1995) to be exact. He loved the trade and was a proud member of the Iron Workers Local Union 15. He was also an Officer and Captain of the Fall Mountain Terryville Fire Department Hose Company 4 for seventeen years (1972-1989).

When he retired in 1995, him and his beloved Therese would spend their summers up North on their beautiful property that sat along the riverside in Sainte-Hedwidge-De Robervel, Quebec, Canada. And although he was considered a retiree, Rene never did stop. He loved using his hands, either splitting wood or building together some sort contraption he would pick up on the side of the road. He found what people would call junk, treasure. He really could fix anything you would give him. On his down time, he would be either fishing or hunting, Rene loved the outdoors. He enjoyed sharing his hobbies with his family and friends. But he truly admired the moments he was able to bring along his grandchildren.

Having so many titles in his life Rene cherished the name Papa. Being a grandfather was his favorite job. He loved showing his grandchildren the “ropes” and telling them countless of stories. He loved watching his boys wrestle and his granddaughter cheerlead. He was always at their sporting events, a half an hour before they begin just to make sure he had the best seat in the house, top of the bleachers. He was a PROUD Papa of five grandchildren.
Rene was the life of the party, he loved to sing, dance, tell jokes and stories. If you encountered Rene, you probably were told a story or two by him. He was a man who loved to live life. Life for him was an adventure and every memory he made was a story to be told.

During to the current pandemic, funeral services and burial will be private.

René J. Perron, un mari, un père, un grand-père et un arrière-grand-père adorés, est décédé entouré de ses proches le 25 janvier 2021 à l’âge de 80 ans. Si vous connaissiez René, il ajouterait 10 ans, insistant sur le fait qu’il avait 90 ans et s’assurant que vous saviez qu’il avait l’air bon pour son âge.

Il est né le 26 mai 1940 et était l’un des 13 enfants. René a été élevé à Roberval, Québec, Canada par son père Pierre Perron et sa mère Rose-Anna Larouche. Il résidait à Terryville CT avec sa femme feu Therese.
René a été précédé dans la mort par son seul et véritable amour de 58 ans sa femme Therese, son père, Pierre, sa mère, Rosa-Anna. Avec ses frères et sœurs, Gilberte, Jeannette, Stanislas, Albert, Edouard, Blanche, Pierre, Rita et Anne-Marie. Il laisse dans le deuil son frère Gerard et sa petite sœur, Louisette AKA Hollywood, ainsi que son fils Dave Perron et sa fille Linda Lydem, et son gendre Bruce Lydem. Il laisse derrière lui 5 petits-enfants Michael Lydem, Justin Lydem (Karla Webb), Melanie Lydem (Justin Chamberland), Kayla Perron et Kyle Perron. Avec ses 3 arrière-petits-enfants, Shawn Lydem, Anthony Lydem et James Lydem. René manquera à de nombreux cousins, neveux, nièces et amis.

René a été ferronnier pendant près de la moitié de sa vie, trente et un ans (1964-1995) pour être exact. Il aimait ce métier et était fier d’être membre du Syndicat local des travailleurs du fer 15. Il a également été officier et capitaine de la Fall Mountain Terryville Fire Department Hose Company 4 pendant dix-sept ans (1972-1989).

Lorsqu’il a pris sa retraite en 1995, lui et sa bien-aimée Therese passaient leurs étés dans le Nord sur leur belle propriété qui se dénoyait le long de la rivière à Sainte-Hedwidge-De Robervel, Québec, Canada. Et bien qu’il ait été considéré comme un retraité, René ne s’est jamais arrêté. Il aimait utiliser ses mains, soit fendre le bois ou construire ensemble une sorte d’engin qu’il ramassait sur le bord de la route. Il a trouvé ce que les gens appelleraient de la camelote, un trésor. Il pouvait vraiment réparer tout ce que tu lui donnerais. À son temps d’insalo place, il pêchait ou chassait, René aimait le plein air. Il aimait partager ses passe-temps avec sa famille et ses amis. Mais il admirait vraiment les moments qu’il a pu apporter à ses petits-enfants.

Ayant tant de titres dans sa vie René chérissait le nom papa. Être grand-père était son travail préféré. Il aimait montrer les « cordes » à ses petits-enfants et leur raconter d’innombrables histoires. Il aimait regarder ses garçons se battre et sa petite-fille cheerlead. Il était toujours à leurs événements sportifs, une demi-heure avant qu’ils ne commencent juste pour s’assurer qu’il avait le meilleur siège dans la maison, en haut des gradins. Il était fier papa de cinq petits-enfants.
René était la vie de la fête, il aimait chanter, danser, raconter des blagues et des histoires. Si vous avez rencontré René, il vous a probablement raconté une ou deux histoires. C’était un homme qui aimait vivre la vie. La vie pour lui était une aventure et chaque souvenir qu’il a fait était une histoire à raconter.

Pendant la pandémie actuelle, les services funéraires et l’inhumation seront privés.
