Rene's obituary

In Loving Memory of Rene Alfredo Acosta Tabanico, beloved father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, community member, and servant of God passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on January 12, 1952, in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, Rene moved to Naco Sonora where he met and married the love of his life, Irma Margarita Saavedra, at the young ages of 17 and 15 with whom he shared 55 wonderful years. They moved together to the United States with a heart full of dreams and an unshakeable determination to build a better life for themselves and their family. Rene’s journey was one of hard work, resilience, and unwavering faith. Upon arriving in the United States he took on any job he could find and always excelled in every one with the goal of providing for his young family. A devoted family man alongside Margarita they sadly lost their first child Luis Rene Acosta but were blessed with and raised five children—Veronica, Jose, Rosa, Rene, and Joanna instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, faith, and compassion. Rene’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored and who affectionately called him “Tata.” Rene was known for his youthful and comedic spirit, always striving to make those around him feel comfortable and enjoy the moments they shard with him. His love for his heritage remained strong, and he was proud to share the rich traditions and culture of Mexico with his children and grandchildren. Rene’s life was a testament to the power of the American dream. He showed that with determination and a strong work ethic, one can overcome obstacles and achieve great success. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his story will continue to inspire future generations. Rene Acosta is survived by his wife Margarita, his children Veronica (and her husband Jose), Jose, Rosa, Rene (and his wife Stefanie), and Joanna (and her husband Rulon), as well as his 16 beloved grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory. A celebration of Rene’s life will be held at Santa Catalina Catholic Church on July 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Rest in peace, Rene. Your legacy of love, hard work, faith, and generosity will never be forgotten.
