My condolences to Rene's family. I first met Rene when he was a busboy at the Cafe Yolanda in Agua Prieta, Mexico and he was about 13 years old so I’ve known him most his life.  He becsme my husband Rosario’s friend when they both worked underground at Newmont/Magma Copper Mine here in San Manuel for over 35-40 years.  His kids and ours went to school together and still keep in touch .  Occasionally we would see René and Margarita at the casino.
