Renate Erika Bachmann Sabulsky of Midlothian, Virginia died on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born in Ziegenhain, Germany on May 26, 1943 to Georg and Frieda Grab Bachmann. Renate and her late husband John (Sib) were married in Rome, Italy on February 15, 1963. They enjoyed traveling the world together while raising daughters Jennifer, Leona, and Michele.

Renate's passion for life was immeasurable. Her desire to see the world never ceased, with recent trips to Germany, Cuba, and Costa Rica. Enjoying countless activities and adventures, she lived each day to the fullest. She attended the Lifelong Learning Institute of Chesterfield where she participated in a wide variety of classes to keep her mind and body active. As a member of Unity of Bon Air, she embraced the positive path to spiritual living and was a part of the garden team. She loved being with the members of the M&M Spiritual group, the Sophisticats Dance Club, and living in the Buckingham Wood Community. She was an avid hiker with the American Volkssport Association, where she met longtime friend, Retired Captain Tom Mosely. They traveled together all over the country enjoying many miles and smiles with their growing number of mutual friends.

Renate leaves behind beloved friends and family members around the globe. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Jennifer, Leona, and Michele, son-in-law Mark, grandchildren Jessica, Julia, Thomas and Tyler, nieces Susan, Mary, Alice, Linda, and Diane, and nephews Mario, Michael and Jimmy. Renate was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Waltraud and Sieglinde.
