I forgot to talk about his Volkswagen bettle and how he was willing to teach me how to drive a stick. We would practice on the g street hill going to ridge road after school and all I had to pay was a dollar for gas- .39 a gallon back then. I will always remember how the floor had rusted out in most places but he drove it everywhere.

Twenty-seven years ago when I moved onto the same street as Joe and Reggie; Reggie was the first to welcome me and my infant son to the neighborhood and Joe soon followed. We quickly became good neighbors and lasting friends. When I spoke to Reggie just before he passed; he sounded strong and we just chatted as if we generally would…we ended by saying I love you! My heart is heavy but I’m grateful to have had him in my life! My condolences to Joe, Candance, Reggie II and the entire family!
