Reginald's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Reginald Petryk after a 2 year battle with cancer on October 5th, 2023. Reggie was born on May 12th, 1944, and lived a full and vibrant life filled with love, humor, and many unforgettable moments. Reginald was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and great-grandfather.
Reginald was predeceased by his beloved wife, Julie Petryk and son Randall Petryk. He leaves behind a legacy of family, including his devoted daughter, Dena Petryk, and his cherished granddaughters, Corinne Petryk, Jocelyn Petryk and Cierra Petryk. They will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
An ardent fan of the Beatles and the Vancouver Canucks, Reginald's passions extended to his hobbies as well. He found great joy in fishing, often retreating to the peaceful solitude of a nearby lake. Another of his favorite pastimes was golf where he achieved the remarkable feat of a hole-in-one, a testament to his patience and focus.
Reginald’s love for traveling was evident in his frequent visits to his favorite vacation spot, Hawaii. He relished the sun, the sand, the sea, and the beautiful landscapes that the island had to offer.
Reginald had a witty personality that instantly lit up any room he entered. His laughter and keen humor were infectious, and he had a way of making people feel comfortable in his presence. He lived by the principle of 'love thy neighbor,' and shared this wisdom with those around him.
Reginald's legacy of kindness and greatness will continue to live on through the lives he touched. His family, friends and all who knew him will greatly miss him. His teachings and the impact he made will always be cherished, and his memory honored with every passing day. May his soul rest in peace.
