Reginald's obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Reginald "Reggie" Smith on June 26, 2023. Born in Hawai`i on November 27, 1963, he was a beacon of strength and kindness throughout his 59 years of life.

Reginald, affectionately known as Reggie to many, was a man who could fill any room with his larger-than-life personality and commanding presence. Yet, beneath this imposing persona lay a heart of gold. He was a gentle giant who wielded his influence with kindness, demonstrating an unwavering love for his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.

He was the true embodiment of a Hawaiian warrior or Koa. A decorated veteran of the US Army, Reggie served our country for 27 years, retiring out of Fort Campbell as a Major. Post retirement, Reggie served as a Trainer for National Guardsmen and Army Reservists around the country.

Despite his numerous professional successes, his most important achievement was his `Ohana (family). He leaves behind his cherished wife, Dawna Smith, son Joshua Smith, daughter Norell Estrada, stepson Eric Smith and four grandchildren.

Reginald's aloha spirit and love for life will forever be remembered by all who knew him. As we mourn his loss, we celebrate his memory by embodying his virtues of kindness, love, and the courage to stand tall in the face of adversity. We express our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
