Reginald's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Reginald Lynn Greer. Reginald was born on August 10, 1959, and departed from this life on his 64th birthday, August 10, 2023. Reginald was known by his middle name "Lynn" to his siblings, extended family, and those who knew him from his hometown of College Station, AR. Lynn moved to Reno, NV with grandparents at the age of 15, where he spent the next 49 years. During his time there, he became known as "Reggie" to all who knew him.
Reginald was a resilient man who had a natural ability to fix items. Early in life, he could be found repairing bicycles around the neighborhood. He would later open and run a commercial cleaning business for several years, but he eventually opened a computer repair shop, "Computer Biz," which he would maintain for the last 15 years of his life. From a simple conversation, it was always apparent that “Computer Biz” was not just a business for Reggie but a clear pathway to purpose. It was a ray of true joy in his life. During the mid-1980’s, Reggie fell in love and married Teresa Nickerson. They gave birth to four beautiful children who are thriving in the Reno area. Lynn enjoyed weightlifting and physical fitness. Reginald also had a strong mind; his hobby of coin collection, particularly pennies, showcased his inquisitive nature and attention to detail. Reginald was a believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ and had publicly professed Him as his Lord and Savior!
His surviving relatives include his children: Reginald Greer Jr., Lawrence Greer, Seresa Greer, and Carresa (Anthony) Powell. His passing leaves a void for his grandchildren: Ja'Xyon Greer, Noah Greer, Kida Greer, and Shyloh Greer, whose memories of their grandpa will never be fully realized.
Reginald is also survived by his beloved 85-year-old mother Wilma Walker, his brothers: Ronald (Carolyn) Greer, Norris (Doris) Greer, Mark (Mabel) Greer, and his sisters: Erma (James) Rainey and Antonette (Eric) Henderson. He was also a valued member of the extended family, sharing a bond with his uncles: Melvin (Alberta) Craig, David (Gerthel) Blackmon, Byron (Pamela) Blackmon, Carl Craig, Donald (Wanda) Craig, Harvey (Yvette) Barton, and his aunts: Sharon (Henry) Jefferies, Deborah Blackmon, and Phillis Muhammad.
Reggie was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Marsha Greenlaw and grandparents, Lawrence and Erma Craig.
May the memory of Reginald continue to live in the hearts of all those who loved him. May he rest in peace, and his memory be a blessing to his family and friends for years to come!
