Reggie's obituary
He attended Diman Vocational High School, after which he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country.
He did many different types of work throughout his life. He was a taxi driver, a carnival ride owner & operator, a showman, a factory worker, as well as a loving father.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Phillip Girard and Alexandrina (Santos) Girard, as well as his sister Aline.
Reggie is survived by his siblings Phillip Girard of Tiverton, Rhode island and Rochelle Duponte of Gardner, Maine, his children Louis Girard of Maryville, Tennesse, Lisa Girard of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Robbie Girard of Chickasha, Oklahoma, his nieces and nephews Jasmin, Chandra, Wayne, Ryan, and Kaitlin, and his grandchild Skandaron Breeden.
Reggie was a “Showman” in the carnival and, in some ways, he was a showman in other areas of life. His sense of humor, incredible imagination, and luck often created some amusing and outrageous stories that he would share with anyone that would listen to him. Many people who knew him in the last 15 years would tell you that he was an amazing storyteller. It was clear that he found amusement in the reactions that he would get with his stories and antics.
The family would like to thank St. Anne’s hospital for the care and compassion they showed him during his final days.
Reginald “Reggie” Girard will be greatly missed by all of those who loved him. He will never be forgotten.
