Regina's obituary
Regina Frances Wilson, 88, of Upland, CA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on October 5, 1937, "Gina" was the beloved daughter of the late Bernardino Francesco and Mary Regina Matto.
Gina’s life was defined by her unwavering faith and her profound devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, David J. Wilson. She was the cherished mother of Cynthia Ann Hemstedt, Mary Ellen Malloy, and Paul David Wilson; the proud grandmother of five: Molly Borowiec, Kristen Sandler, Dylan Malloy, Annabelle Wilson, and Zachary Wilson; and a great-grandmother of four: Ava, Rylee, Zane, and Ezra. She was preceded in death by her dear sisters, Louise Lucy Cutrone and Angelina Olga De Rubeis.
A devout Catholic, Gina’s faith was the foundation of everything she did. She made it a priority to attend Mass regularly and especially loved attending when her granddaughter sang. Gina was always the first to offer a prayer or a helping hand to someone in need.
To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Grandma," "GG," or "Grandma Gina." Her love was a tangible thing, most often felt through the warmth of her Italian kitchen, where she was legendary for her handmade ravioli, lasagna, and pizza gain. Beyond her famous "bunny bread" and pizzelles, Gina’s greatest gift was her presence; she was a constant fixture in the stands at youth sports games and a smiling face at every school play or recital. At home, she was the heart of the family, whether she was leading a lively game of Mexican Train Dominoes or ensuring that every single birthday and anniversary was remembered and honored.
She will be deeply missed by the many family members, friends, and neighbors touched by her kindness and spirit. May God welcome her into His eternal embrace.
Service Information: A graveside ceremony will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario at 9:00 am on January 12, 2026.
